Bloomfields Marquees - The History

David Bloomfield, the fourth generation owner of Bloomfields Marquees, is proud to continue the tradition of eco friendly canvas and wood marquees.

By using natural materials it is possible to maintain the original appearance and quality of our marquees.

Poles, tent pegs, guy ropes and canvas are all lovingly cared for by craftsmen who are skilled at working with these natural materials.

Any repairs can be carried out immediately on site so you don't have to worry about broken aluminium tent poles or ripped plastic panels - we'll just fix it straight away!

We work hard to ensure that our marquee looks just great for your celebration or event.

We have developed attractive wrought iron uplighters that create a wonderful atmosphere by illuminating the canvas marquee roof. We have a range of tables, chairs, flooring and staging to suit your requirements too. Just tell us what you want to do and we'll help you out.

All Bloomfields Marquees are stored locally in Great yarmouth and are carefully checked, dried, aired thoroughly after each use to ensure they are fresh.

Started by Jimmy Bloomfield in 1874 the skills available from the Great Yarmouth fishing industry meant that there were craftsmen who could work splicing ropes, use a block & tackle, sew heavy canvas material and produce strong wooden tent poles.

Bloomfields has provided marquees over the decades for a number of local occasions including a rare request to place a marquee on the aft deck of a ship in Great Yarmouth harbour during the 1960's.

In more recent years Bloomfields has provided marquees for Worstead Festival, Aylsham Show and the Norwich Police Gala.
